Definition

The divine radiation and efflux of life-force, issuing forth from the "breath of His mouth," blessed be He, is divided into four general levels, which correspond to the four spiritual worlds:אצילות (Atzilut), בריאה (Beriah), יצירה (Yetzirah), and עשיה (Asiyah).

The world of יצירה (Yetzirah) is one of the three separate worlds that come into being in a manner of something from nothing. It is also referred to as the World of Formation.

The ten ספירות (Sefirot) of the world of יצירה (Yetzirah), along with the נֶפֶשׁ (Nefesh) and רוּחַ (Ruach), are the first stage and the beginning of created substantiality (yesh). They are created from the category of the נְשָׁמָה (neshamah) of the ten ספירות (Sefirot) of בְּרִיאָה (Beriah), יְצִירָה (Yetzirah), and עֲשִׂיָּה (Asiyah), which is Divinity.

From the aspect of מַלְכוּת (Malchut) of בְּרִיאָה (Beriah), the aspect of כֶּתֶר (Keter) and עַתִּיק יוֹמִין (Atik Yomin) of the world of יְצִירָה (Yetzirah) is made, through the penetration of a מָסָךְ (Masach) between בְּרִיאָה (Beriah) and יְצִירָה (Yetzirah).

The radiation from the light of the אֵין סוֹף (En Sof) which encircles the four worlds, including יְצִירָה (Yetzirah), confers unto them the power and force to create substantiality ex nihilo (yesh meayin).
