כח

כח is a term meaning power, potential, or faculty. In the context of Kabbalah and Chassidus, it often refers to a concealed, potential state that has not yet been actualized (בכח ולא בפועל),a tool waiting to be used. The ability for the eye to see would be called a כח הראייה (an ability to see). The concept is applied to describe faculties of the human soul (כוחות הנפש) as well as various aspects of Divine creative power.
