כח המשכיל

כוח המשכיל (lit. “the power of intellect“). The source of intellect from which actual thought and conceptualization derives is called the כוח המשכיל. Nevertheless, this is only the external aspect of כוח המשכיל, whereas its inner dimension has no connection to ideas. The כוח המשכיל differs from actual thought in two ways: a) it is not the process of thinking, but rather the power of an intelligent soul to think; b) it remains part of the soul and is indivisible from the other powers of the soul. In technical kabbalistic terms, the כוח המשכיל is called “חכמה סתימאה” .
